Week 11:More Jataka Tales, Part B

The Hawks and their Friends was another moving story about friendship. I like how each of the animals supported the hawks until they were safe. A kingfisher and a hawk would typically be enemies, but in this case they seemed to put their differences aside and embrace friendship.

The Brave Little Bowman!! A great story about how we are capable of more than we think. In the bowman's case, he knew he was capable, but he knew the king wouldn't take him seriously.

The Foolhardy Wolf should have taken the advice from the wise lion. I liked his determination though. I think that he just got a little too proud of himself. Sit down. Be humble.

The Stolen Plow was a little extreme to me. The plow might have have been village trader's livelihood, but you don't mess with a person's kids. Like steal his chickens or something. I honestly thought the town trader had actually lost the village trader's son.

Is the moral of Beauty and Brownie to listen to your parents? An important rule to remember. Even though sometimes its very hard to follow...

The Elephant and the Dog reminded me of all those stories you see of lions cubs getting raised with dogs or horses getting raised with dogs. It just goes to show you that even animals can't put aside their physical differences and love each other. We need to take a lesson from them.
