Reading Notes: Jataka Tales, Part A

I can imagine these stories in a child's storybook. Each story is so fun and quirky.

I really enjoyed The Merchant of Seri. It had a happy ending but it also taught us the importance of being honest and good.

I feel like there's an important lesson in The Turtle Who Couldn't Stop Talking. I might be interested in doing a retelling of it. Maybe along the lines of a woman who lives a very anxious life and she never stops going and the disasters that can lead to. Or a story about someone who can talk the talk, but can't walk the walk.

The Quarrel of the Quails is an obvious story about teamwork. I think it be fun to twist it into something that is the opposite of that, but I can't think about how??

The Foolish, Timid Rabbit is a good story. It makes sense that the rabbit thought the world was falling apart because that's how it saw it. So many times we look at circumstances through our views only and it makes it makes things seem so much bigger than they actually are. Then we start convincing people around us to be fearful as well. We all need to step back sometimes and get a little help from a lion.
